Ther-Rx products benefit from the most advanced drug-delivery technologies — technologies that help medicines stay in place, taste better, and release themselves at a variety of controlled rates.
Advanced drug-delivery technologies have become the hallmark of our parent company, KV Pharmaceutical. KV is a fully integrated specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, manufacturers, acquires, licenses, and markets technologically distinguished products.
One of the unique proprietary KV technologies utilized currently at Ther-Rx Corporation is Site Release®.

KV’s Site Release® drug delivery system provides a creative, unique approach to drug delivery, combining bioadhesion to wet living tissues with controlled release of the drug agent. Products incorporating Site Release® technology are designed to adhere to wet living tissues, yet are minimally affected by the presence of moisture.

Site Release® is currently commercialized in two Ther-Rx Corporation products, Gynazole-1® and Clindesse®, thus providing one-dose-to-treat products, with a potential to improve patient compliance, while also allowing anytime dosing with minimized leakage. Site Release® butoconazole nitrate 2% vaginal cream, used in Gyanazole-1® and clindamycin phosphate 2% vaginal cream used in Clindesse® have both received FDA approval.
